Would the Hawks consider a high-upside European swingman with the 21st pick? This mock thinks so.

With more than a month until the 2016 NBA Draft, there will be no shortage of prospects linked, at least in some way, to the Atlanta Hawks with regard to the number 21 overall pick. Earlier this week, a mock draft emerged with a name tied to the Hawks that most casual (or even semi-diehard) fans of the NBA would have no recollection of, and that player is Isaia Cordinier.

Derek Bodner of USA Today projects Cordinier to land in Atlanta, and he had this to say about the 6-foot-5 swingman from France.

Cordinier's young and raw, but Atlanta could be just the place to help grow this incredibly athletic shooting guard. Patience would be needed, but the upside is there with Cordinier.

Cordinier is widely considered as a second-round pick in this year's draft, but his athleticism and youth (19 years old) could allow him to rise quickly on some draft boards. At 6-foot-5, he holds a 6-foot-8 wingspan (according to DraftExpress), and his wiry, 175-pound frame certainly has a lot of room for growth.

Fans have been screaming for additional athleticism on this roster for some time and, if nothing else, Cordinier would bring that to the table in large supply. It remains to be seen if this will be a "realistic" projection given the sharp divide on the actual value of a player like Isaia Cordinier, but it is another interesting name to consider and it would be nice to have a long-term athletic project on the wing.
