The Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets played a close, hard-fought game Friday night in Game 6 of their first round series. The game was entertaining for four quarters, and we saw some old school Dwyane Wade as well, which is always fun.
Wade hadn't made a three-pointer in the calendar year 2016. He made 21 attempts, and missed all 21. But on Friday night, Wade found his stroke, and knocked down a pair of threes.
So naturally, Wade compared himself to one of the better three-point shooters in the league to the Miami Herald:
"I'm Kyle Korver now."
Wade was loving every minute of it, so much that he even showed up a heckling Hornets fan that was telling Wade to retire the entire game.
Wade comparing his performance to that of Korver's is quite the compliment. There have been plenty of great three-point shooters to come through the league since Wade entered in 2003, but Korver was the one who came to mind. That definitely speaks to how effective Korver has been over the years, and players definitely take note of his deadly stroke.
