It was a short stay for Lamar Patterson this time around as the Atlanta Hawks reassigned him to the Austin Spurs of the NBA D-League on Sunday. The Hawks recalled Patterson prior to Friday's Game 1 against the Boston Celtics due to the health status of Tim Hardaway Jr who suffered a hamstring strain in the season finale. Hardaway was able to play and the Hawks elected to return Patterson to the D-League for some playoff experience.
Patterson was in uniform for the Spurs on Sunday before the game was suspended due to condensation on the floor. Austin is leading 58-53 with 6:25 remaining in the third quarter. Austin needs a win to force a decisive Game 3. The game will be resumed on Monday at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
