The Atlanta Hawks did not get the benefit of a "win" in the four-way tiebreaker that allowed the Miami Heat to claim the number three seed in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. #21 ATL
#22 CHA

#24 MIA (to PHI)
2nd round
#51 MIA (to BOS)
#52 BOS (to UTA via MEM)
#53 CHA (to DEN)
#54 ATL
This is, of course, something of a minor victory, but the Hawks could have picked three spots lower in round one, and the difference between those picks far outweighs the same margin in the second round of the upcoming draft. Atlanta elected to move out of the first round via trade a year ago, but first round picks are currency in today's NBA, and every little jump counts.
Stay tuned for thorough coverage as the NBA Draft approaches, but the Hawks are "winning" already.
