The Atlanta Hawks are in the nation's capital tonight to take on the Washington Wizards, where they will look to avenge a loss at the beginning of the week, where the Wizards knocked off the Hawks by a score of 117-102.
Although that score might tell you the game wasn't all that close, that's certainly not the case. The two teams battled seemingly until the end of that game, but the Wizards pulled away in the last few minutes, taking the life out of the Hawks. The defense for Atlanta wasn't nearly as stingy as it had been, and some shots that usually fall just didn't.
John Wall had 27 points and 14 assists the last time the two teams faced, with Bradley Beal contributing 25. The win kept the Wizards in the playoff race, and got themselves back to .500.
Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 23 points in the previous contest, but the Hawks made just 7-of-16 shots in the fourth quarter, and failed to convert on any three-point attempts. They also committed five turnovers, allowing the Wizards lead to stretch quickly. The team also had a scare, with Dennis Schröder going down in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury, although he would be fine.
