The Atlanta Hawks are playing some of their best basketball of the season and look for their fourth straight win Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets.
Atlanta secured a 118-114 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday and climbed to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague led the way with 22 points and nine assists while Dennis Schröder chipped in 18 and 7 off the bench. Al Horford logged a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawks were forced to hold on at the end as they saw a nine-point lead trimmed to just two points with 19 seconds remaining. However, they found a way to win and that simply wasn't something that we were seeing earlier in the season.
Denver comes into Thursday's game having lost two straight but have been scoring the ball at will during the month of March. The Nuggets dropped a 116-110 decision in Orlando on Tuesday. The Nuggets have had defensive issues throughout the season, but they are putting up 115.5 points per game during the month of March and the Hawks will have to dig in defensively if they hope to come away with a victory.
Atlanta won the first meeting between the two teams 119-105 back in late January.
