The Atlanta Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak with a big home win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. They head back out on the road Wednesday night to face the Philadelphia 76ers and hope to build some momentum.
If they are to pull out a victory then they are going to have to give a much better effort on the road. Atlanta is 12-14 overall away from Philips Arena but have lost two straight and six of their last eight. The Hawks are averaging just over 91 points per game during that span.
Atlanta turned in a solid effort at both ends of the floor in Monday's 112-97 win over the Mavericks. Jeff Teague scored a season-best 32 points and knocked down five three-pointers in the win. The Hawks improved to 28-22 on the season and held on to the third spot in the East standings despite going just 5-5 over their last 10 games.
The Sixers are 7-41 on the season but have gone 6-11 in their last 17 games including a 108-105 defeat by the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
Atlanta has won both meetings with the Sixers this season including a 126-98 road win on January 7. The Hawks have won nine of their last 10 meetings overall against Philadelphia.
Atlanta will be without reserve center Tiago Splitter who is again battling a hip injury. Splitter missed Monday's win over the Mavericks with Mike Muscala getting the bulk of playing time behind Al Horford. Jahlil Okafor returned from a two-game absence against the Warriors on Saturday.
