2016 NBA Trade Rumors: Sixers may check with Hawks again about Jeff Teague, Dennis

The Philadelphia 76ers could double back and check with the Atlanta Hawks again about potential Jeff Teague or Dennis Schröder trades.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the teams that have shown interest in a trade involving Atlanta point guards Jeff Teague or Dennis Schröder. Why nothing seems to have materialized in those early talks, Philly Inquirer writer Keith Pompey reports that the Sixers could check back in with the Hawks again today before the deadline.

Another source wouldn't be surprised if the Sixers call the Hawks at the 11th hour to follow up on their interest in Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague or backup Dennis Schroder.

The problem is that the Sixers would have to at least offer Okafor or Nerlens Noel to make that deal work. The Sixers don't want to part with either player - at least until they know the health of big man Joel Embiid, who has an injured right foot and has yet play since being drafted third overall out of Kansas in 2014.

Rumors have had the Hawks asking for a premium price for players like Teague and free agent to be Al Horford. That it would likely take Okafor or Noel to land either Teague or Schröder confirms that thinking. A move like this could make sense for Atlanta given that they just lost Tiago Splitter for the remainder of the season and could use some added depth in the front court.

Still, it is unlikely that Philadelphia will be willing to part ways with either Okafor or Noel before seeing Joel Embiid actually suit up and play in a game.
