Paul Millsap will be game-time decision against Oklahoma City

The Hawks will be cutting it close with Paul Millsap on Monday.

Update: The Hawks have officially listed Paul Millsap as questionable for Monday’s game.

Without Paul Millsap in the lineup, the Atlanta Hawks submitted their worst two-game stretch in recent memory on Friday and Saturday. With that in mind, it would be very nice for the team to have the benefit of Millsap’s availability on Monday evening against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the status of the team’s best player will not be known until closer to game time.

Chris Vivlamore of the AJC brings word that Millsap will be a game-time decision against OKC, as Mike Budenholzer indicated as such during Atlanta’s morning shootaround. Quite obviously, the Hawks would be in a (much) more favorable position to claim a bounce-back victory if Millsap is available to play and, without him, Atlanta would turn to some combination of Mike Muscala, Mike Scott, Kris Humphries and Thabo Sefolosha at the power forward position.

At the moment, the Hawks are seen as 2.5-point favorites to claim victory in the minds of Las Vegas experts, but it will be interesting to see if that moves depending on Millsap’s announced status later in the day. Stay tuned.
