Paul Millsap to miss next two games with left hip injury

The Hawks will be missing a giant piece on Friday and Saturday.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Paul Millsap was absent from the proceedings on Wednesday evening in Phoenix and, well, things did not go particularly well for the Atlanta Hawks against the Suns. Unfortunately, the team will once again be without its best player on Friday evening, as Mike Budenholzer announced prior to the game against the Detroit Pistons that Millsap would miss his second straight contest. In addition, Millsap will not travel to Toronto on Saturday and will miss the game against the Raptors.

Millsap’s absence has emerged from relative anonymity, as he was listed ominously as questionable on the injury report with a left hip issue prior to both games. At this point in time, there is no reason for tremendous despair, but Millsap missing both parts of a back-to-back is slightly concerning, if only because both games could be treacherous for Atlanta against quality opponents.

Updates will undoubtedly emerge on this front in the coming days, but the Atlanta Hawks will take the floor without Paul Millsap on Friday and Saturday and that certainly isn’t ideal.
