Hawks to recall DeAndre’ Bembry per report

Looks like it will be a short stay in the D-League for this Hawks rookie

DeAndre’ Bembry made his D-League debut Thursday night in impressive fashion but it looks like this assignment will be a short one. The Hawks have reportedly recalled Bembry from the D-League according to a report by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore.

Bembry finished with 35 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Salt Lake City Stars in a 118-110 loss to the L.A. D-Fenders. He was assigned to the D-League on Wednesday via the flexible assignment rule in an effort to get him some court time after playing sparingly for Atlanta over the first part of the season. Bembry started at shooting guard for the Stars and played 35 minutes going 16 for 22 from the field.

The Hawks listed Paul Millsap as questionable for Friday’s game against Detroit and Bembry could be on the active against the Pistons if Millsap is unable to go. The Hawks upgraded Mike Scott to probable for Friday’s game after making his season debut in Wednesday’s loss in Phoenix.
