The Atlanta Hawks got their road trip off on a good note and hope to keep things going Friday when they face the Utah Jazz.
Atlanta snapped a three-game losing streak with a 95-86 road win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday in the first of a five-game trip. Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap did most of the heavy lifting against the Jazz. Howard finished with 23 points and a season-best 20 rebounds while Millsap finished with 18 points and 11 boards.
The Jazz captured a much-needed win on Wednesday defeating the Denver Nuggets 108-83. Utah received a lift with the return of point guard George Hill who had missed the last eight games with a sprained thumb. Hill scored 22 points against the Nuggets and is averaging a career-best 20.6 so far this season.
Point could be hard to come by as Atlanta and Utah are two of the best defensive teams in the league. The Hawks lead the NBA in defensive rating at 96.2 while the Jazz are fifth at 100.5.
Atlanta played without Kyle Korver who was given the night off on Wednesday due to the back-to-back. He is expected to rejoin the team’s starting lineup in Utah. Jazz forward Derrick Favors has missed four-straight games with a bone-bruise in his knee.
