The Atlanta Hawks preseason road show continues Saturday night with a stop in San Antonio to face the Spurs.
The Hawks opened their preseason slate with a 104-83 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday. Edy Tavares recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while rookie DeAndre’ Bembry added 12 points. Atlanta outscored the Grizzlies 55-37 in the second half and came away with a 53-36 rebounding advantage.
The Spurs dropped their preseason opener on Monday falling the Phoenix Suns 91-86. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 17 points while Jonathan Simmons added 10.
The Hawks had several players sit out Thursday’s opener. Paul Millsap and Jarrett Jack have been ruled out of the first two preseason games. Tiago Splitter also missed Thursday’s game with a sore hamstring but is on the trip and his availability for Saturday’s game is not known. Mike Scott was a late scratch in Memphis due to a sore knee.
