The Atlanta Hawks were already set to be without both All-Star forward Paul Millsap and reserve point guard Jarrett Jack for Thursday’s preseason opener against the Memphis Grizzlies. Now, it appears that Mike Budenholzer and the coaching staff will be working from an even more limited roster, as Tiago Splitter will also be absent from the proceedings.
The Hawks have announced that Tiago Splitter (right hamstring strain) is OUT for Thursday's exhibition at the Grizzlies.

It is a bit strange to see Splitter out of the lineup due to a hamstring ailment, especially because Chris Vivlamore also notes that he was able to practice on Wednesday. From the outside, it seems reasonable to think that the Hawks are simply taking a cautious approach with Splitter, but nonetheless, it is another absence for the Hawks in Memphis.
Because of his unknown health at this stage, Splitter’s role is undefined, but if available and 100 percent, he is easily the best option behind Dwight Howard at the center position. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
