The Atlanta Hawks got a boost at the point guard position on Monday as Dennis Schröder returned to the practice floor according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore.

Schröder had been out since last Thursday due to what the team categorized as ankle soreness. With Schröder on the sidelines, the team had been shorthanded at point guard. Jarrett Jack has still not been cleared for full contact leaving just Malcolm Delaney and Will Bynum as the only healthy options on the roster. The team announced the signing of point guard Josh Magette to a training camp deal on Monday to give them another healthy body.

Also according to Vivlamore, Paul Millsap took part in shooting drills at Monday’s practice. Millsap underwent a procedure on his knee to alleviate some persistent swelling and is expected to miss at least the first two preseason games.

The Hawks will kick off their preseason schedule on Thursday with a trip to Memphis to face the Grizzlies. They will take on the Spurs in San Antonio on Saturday.
