Hawks bringing in Josh Magette on training camp deal, per report

Training camp roster back at 20

The Atlanta Hawks will bring point guard Josh Magette in on a training camp contract according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.

The Hawks found themselves with a point guard shortage after the first week of training camp. Starter Dennis Schroder has been slowed by a sore ankle while Jarrett Jack still hasn't been cleared for full contact following last season's ACL injury. That left Atlanta with just two healthy options at point guard in Malcolm Delaney and Will Bynum. The team released Richard Solomon on Saturday to clear a spot so that they could add another guard.

Magette went undrafted out of Division II Alabama-Huntsville in 2012. He spent last season D-League playing for the L.A. D-Fenders where he averaged 11.5 points and 9.1 assists in 45 games. He has also spent time playing in Europe in the Netherlands and Greece. Magette went to summer league with the Brooklyn Nets.
