The Atlanta Hawks are in action on Tuesday evening and the game will take place in front of the home crowd at Philips Arena. With that, this is the final opportunity to see the team in person during the preseason and, beyond that, it is also the final televised contest for Atlanta prior to the regular season opener.
On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans come to town and the Hawks are getting to be closer to full strength each day. While Atlanta parted ways with Matt Costello on Monday, Paul Millsap’s return was as outstanding as humanly possible and everything with regard to his health appears to be on the up and up.
With that in mind, the Hawks will be deploying a “normal” starting lineup for Tuesday’s action (per Chris Vivlamore of the AJC), including nothing in the way of pre-announced rest for rotation members. The term “dress rehearsal” comes to mind in this instance, but more than anything, it will nice to see Atlanta’s rotation at something approaching normalcy for the first time.
Anthony Davis will not play for New Orleans and, in truth, the Pelicans are quite short-handed with Jrue Holiday already out of the lineup. Still, the Hawks get a nice opportunity to take on a real, live NBA team while deploying all of their healthy options and the intrigue level is high for this match-up.
Stay tuned.
