Hawks vs Pacers preview: Atlanta looks to bounce back against slumping Pacers

The Atlanta Hawks look to put Wednesday's ugly loss behind them quickly when they take on the Indiana Pacers Thursday night.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks won't have long to think about Wednesday's painful 85-83 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The team departed for Indiana right after the game and will take on a Pacers team Thursday that has been dealing with its own struggles of late.

The Hawks have dropped three of their last four games and two straight on the road. They have been plagued by inconsistent play throughout the season and have struggled with turnovers of late. Atlanta coughed the ball up 23 times in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers which offset a good defensive performance.

Indiana comes into Thursday's game having lost three straight and six of their last seven overall. That skid has them just one game above .500 and in the eighth slot in the Eastern Conference standings. Paul George finished with 31 points in a 91-89 loss to the Clippers on Tuesday.

The Pacers took the first meeting between the two clubs back in late December 93-87. Paul Millsap finished with 24 points and seven rebounds but Atlanta turned the ball over 22 times in the loss. Monta Ellis led the way for the Pacers with 26 points.
