News broke this morning that the Atlanta Hawks have quietly been gauging the value of point guard Jeff Teague in trade discussions. We have now learned that one of those teams that reportedly spoke to Atlanta was the New York Knicks according to ESPN.com's Ian Begley.

Knicks have limited assets, may have to get creative to land Teague. Yahoo! earlier reported ATL was listening to offers on the PG (2/2)

One thing to note on Teague: he is slated to make $8 million in 2016-17. So a trade for Teague would impact NYK's cap space for this summer.

At this point, it appears that things are still in the early stages. Begley points out that the Knicks are one of several teams that have spoken with Atlanta. Nothing at this point should be considered imminent but the situation is worth watching closely.
