The Atlanta Hawks' road trip rolls on Saturday with a stop in Phoenix to face the Suns. Atlanta saw a three-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday with a 91-88 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Atlanta overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half but came up just short in the end.
If the Hawks hope to get back on track, then they are going to need better play from the point guard position. Both Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder struggled in Thursday's loss to the Kings. Schroder finished with 12 points and four assists but was just 5 for 14 from the field and was saddled with six turnovers.
Teague has struggled in January averaging just 10.6 points and 4.4 assists while shooting just 39 percent from the field. He was 2 for 8 with four points and four assists in just 20 minutes in Thursday's loss. Teague and Schroder accounted for nine of Atlanta's 19 turnovers against the Kings.
The entire season has been a struggle for the Suns who have lost six straight and nine of their last 10 overall including a 117-89 loss to the Spurs Thursday night. Devin Booker scored a game-high 24 points but San Antonio took Phoenix apart shooting 49 percent from the field. The Suns took on the Spurs without four key players who missed the game due to injury. Brandon Knight, Markieff Morris, Mirza Teletovic and P.J. Tucker are all listed as questionable for Saturday's game. Jon Leuer is listed as doubtful. Morris went through a full practice on Friday and is the most likeliest of the group to play on Saturday. The Suns are already without Eric Bledsoe who is out for the season after knee surgery.
