The Dominican Republic drops to 0-2 at Day 2 of the FIBA Americas Championship with a 71-65 loss to Brazil. The Dominicans were outscored 29-16 in the second quarter and were unable to dig themselves out of the hole. James Feldeine led the way with 20 points while Rigoberto Mendoza added 14 off the bench. Viera Marquinhos led Brazil with 17 points.
It was a damaging loss for the Dominican Republic who likely need to win their remaining two games to have any hopes of a top four finish which is needed to advance to the second round.
The action continues on Wednesday when the Dominican Republic squares off against Panama who defeated Uruguay 78-71 on Monday.
