The departure of Danny Ferry and subsequent promotions of Mike Budenholzer and Wes Wilcox left the Atlanta Hawks a bit short handed in the front office. A report by Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution suggests they have taken a step forward to rectify that.

According to the report, the Hawks have hired Michael Blackstone and John Treloar to front office positions. Blackstone had previously served as director of basketball operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He most recently was employed by a consulting firm located in Baltimore.

Treloar worked with the Phoenix Suns as director of Player Personnel and has former coaching experience in the D-League as well as the college level. Both Blackstone and Treloar previously worked with Wilcox during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Wilcox was promoted to the team's general manager position earlier this summer after the organization reached an agreement with Ferry for his departure. Budenholzer was given the title of President of Basketball Operations in addition to his head coaching duties. The two served in that same capacity last season while Ferry was serving a voluntary leave of absence.

Vivlamore also reports that the team has promoted Jeff Peterson to Director of Scouting. No official announcement of these moves has been made by the team as of yet.

The team still has to add a new training staff after deciding not to renew the contracts of Wally Blase and Pete Radulovic earlier this summer.
