Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schröder finished with 13 points and four assists for team Germany in a 74-72 overtime loss to Croatia. Germany suffers its first exhibition loss as they continue to prepare for next month's Eurobasket tournament.

Dirk Nowitzki saw his first action for the national team scoring 11 points in 24 minutes of work. Sixers' draft pick Dario Saric led Croatia with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Brooklyn's Bojan Bogdanovic added 14 points.

Germany will compete as part of Group B at Eurobasket along with Iceland, Turkey, Spain, Serbia and Italy. They begin pool play on September 5 against Iceland. The top four of each group will advance to the knockout stage with the top two finishers earning spots in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
