Former NBA veteran Malik Rose is joining the Atlanta Hawks front office according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore. Per the report, Rose will have a role in Atlanta's revamped Basketball Operations department.
Rose is a 13-year veteran of the league having played with the Knicks, Spurs, Hornets and Thunder. It was during his time with the Spurs that he first crossed paths with Mike Budenholzer. Rose has worked as a broadcaster since retiring as a player and has worked with NBA TV and NBA Radio and spent last season as a color commentator for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Hawks have restructured their front office this off season following the departure of Danny Ferry from the organization. Atlanta elevated Budenholzer to President of Basketball Operations and Wes Wilcox as the team's General Manager which were roles that they had held since last season on an interim basis while Ferry was away on leave.
Earlier this summer, Atlanta hired Michael Blackstone as the team's assistant general manager and John Treloar as director of player personnel.
