Former Atlanta Hawks first round pick John Jenkins has agreed to a multi year deal with the Dallas Mavericks according to a report by RealGM's Shams Charania.

Terms of the deal weren't released, but its not likely that the entire deal is fully guaranteed. Jenkins is 24 years old and doesn't have a lot of NBA mileage on him at this point. He showed promise as a rookie when he appeared in 61 games while shooting 45 percent from the field. His 2014 season was just about a complete washout due to a back injury that eventually required season ending surgery.
Jenkins came back healthy in 2014, but found himself out of the Hawks rotation. When he did get an opportunity he played reasonably well, but it was clear that he didn't fit into Atlanta's future plans.
