The Atlanta Hawks have an agreement in place with 2014 second round pick Walter Tavares according to a report by Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears.
Cape Verdean Walter Tavares was selected with the 43rd overall pick in 2014 NBA draft by the Hawks. He stands 7-foot-3 with a 7-9 wingspan.

Tavares drew rave reviews as part of the 2014 Summer League roster before returning to Europe where he had a highly productive season. In fact, it was once considered unlikely that "Edy" would arrive in the U.S. in time for the 2015-2016 season, as he was reportedly weighing lucrative offers from some of the top clubs in Europe.
It is important to note that no contract information, short of the notation of a "multi-year" agreement, is available at this time, and it will be interesting to evaluate the contract details as they emerge. Expectations should be tempered in terms of immediate impact, but Tavares is a nice building block for the future, especially on the defensive end.
