The Atlanta Hawks could go in a number of different directions in the 2015 NBA Draft. They have room to add a front court player but could also look to add more wing depth to their roster. DraftExpress updated its mock draft earlier this week and ">projects Arizona small forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to the Hawks at No. 15.
Hollis-Jefferson averaged 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in 38 games for the Wildcats as a sophomore. He measured out at 6-7 in shoes at the Draft Combine and weighed in at 211 pounds. He projects as a small forward at the NBA level and was voted to the Pac-12 All Conference First Team and All Defensive team in 2015.
Here is a pre-draft workout and interview with Hollis-Jefferson courtesy of DraftExpress:
He is a good athlete and a polished defender which should translate to the next level. His offensive game is still developing. He showed an ability to get to the basket and to the free throw line, but not much of a jump shot or a perimeter game.
A group of 4-6 players seems to be separating themselves at the top of the draft projections but things are still in flux below. DraftExpress projects guys like Sam Dekker to the Celtics at No. 16 and he seems like a guy that could be a good fit with Atlanta as well. We talked about Bobby Portis earlier this week and he is projected to Milwaukee at No. 17.
