The Atlanta Hawks have selected shooting guard Marcus Eriksson with the 50th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Eriksson stands at 6-foot-7 and 178 pounds, and he hails from Sweden. The 21-year-old swingman participated in only one game during the 2014-2015 season, as he was sidelined with a torn ACL. Prior to the injury, he was seen in some circles as a fringe first-round prospect.
Here is some video on Eriksson, courtesy of DraftExpress:
Eriksson is seen as a potentially prolific shooter, and in his last full season while playing in the ACB, he averaged 11.2 points per game while shooting 37.5 percent from three-point distance. It is unclear as to what the Hawks will plan to do with his rights moving forward, though it should be noted that the team faces some interesting roster decisions and it appears likely that he could be "stashed" in Europe as the front office monitors his development.
