Latest mock from Sheridan Hoops has Hawks taking Kelly Oubre Jr.

Kelly Oubre Jr.'s name continues to surface with the Hawks at the 15th pick, this time from Sheridan Hoops.

In the sixth installation of the Sheridan Hoops mock draft, writer Joe Kotoch, like others, has the Atlanta Hawks selecting Kansas small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. with the 15th overall pick.

From Kotoch:

The Hawks just announced a mutual parting with former GM Danny Ferry and the permanent promotion of coach Mike Budenholzer to president of operations. With starting forwards Millsap and DeMarre Carroll set to be free agents, the Hawks may be looking for insurance.

Oubre is very intriguing because of his tremendous size and athleticism in spite of his poor shooting. He recently declined an invitation to workout for Milwaukee (17th), so there is a feeling he will be off the board by then.

The Hawks might be a team to keep an eye on with Sam Dekker or Bobby Portis as well.

Oubre, like other forwards, has been a name often associated with the Hawks and the 15th selection in the draft. His athleticism, length, and potential has him high on draft boards, even though he didn't stand out while at Kansas.

Kotoch also mentions Sam Dekker and Bobby Portis, two guys who have been of interest of the Hawks. Either of these would be welcome pieces in Atlanta, but when it all comes down to it, a decision will be made largely based on what happens in the 14 picks in front of them, unless the Hawks take matters into their own hands, and trade up for a guy they feel is worth it.
