The Atlanta Hawks are set to formally unveil their new uniform and color scheme with a grand ceremony on Wednesday morning at Philips Arena. In advance of that announcement, however, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has unearthed what the uniforms will look like.
At first blush, these may be a bit "much", especially for the older crowd. The "lime green or no lime green" debate has been settled with a touch of the accented color, and in place of the new ancient navy blue color scheme, black has been inserted. As you can see, there are three distinct color choices, including the base white, with the red jersey keeping the now familiar "ATL" block lettering on the first page. Lastly, the "Pac-Man" logo is prominently involved on the shorts, and that is never a bad thing.
It is important to note that a) the Hawks will be targeting a younger audience with this new look, and b) this may not go over well in some circles. Still, this is the new reality, and it is time to come to grips with it.
Until tomorrow... here they are.
