When we last heard news surrounding Kyle Korver, the Atlanta Hawks were awaiting a "second opinion" on the veteran swingman's injured ankle. On Tuesday night, any optimism surrounding a way to avoid surgery evaporated.
First, David Aldridge of TNT reported that Korver would undergo surgery on Wednesday.

Later in the evening, head coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed the report with an announcement that Korver will go under the knife.

It should be noted that Budenholzer declined to disclose a timetable for Korver's recover, but if the initial time period stated by DeMarre Carroll holds true, Korver could miss four-to-six months, placing the start of the 2015-2016 regular season in jeopardy.
More information will come in the coming days and weeks, but Kyle Korver faces an uphill battle this offseason.
