The Atlanta Hawks still have a lot of work to do against the Washington Wizards. However, the NBA must be proactive in setting future schedules with regard to the playoffs, and on Thursday afternoon, the league released a prospective schedule if the Hawks can sneak past Washington.

Here is the game schedule, regardless of whether Atlanta would face the Cleveland Cavaliers or Chicago Bulls:

  • Game 1 – Wed May 20; Cleveland/Chicago at Atlanta; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 2 – Fri May 22; Cleveland/Chicago at Atlanta; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 3 – Sun May 24; Atlanta at Cleveland/Chicago; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 4 – Tue May 26; Atlanta at Cleveland/Chicago; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 5 * Thu May 28; Cleveland/Chicago at Atlanta; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 6 * Sat May 30; Atlanta at Cleveland/Chicago; 8:30PM ET, TNT
  • Game 7 * Mon June 1; Cleveland/Chicago at Atlanta; 8:30PM ET, TNT

A potential Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals (against Washington) would take place on Monday, May 18 at Philips Arena, leaving the Hawks in what would be another quick turnaround from series to series. However, if Atlanta can close out Washington on Friday evening in Game 6, the top-seeded Hawks would have the benefit of some much-coveted rest.

At this point, this is simply information for future use, but optimistic Hawks fans can begin to clear the schedules.
