Mike Scott's status for Sunday's Game 1 against the Brooklyn Nets has yet to be determined as he continues to deal with a back contusion. Scott was limited in Friday's practice according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution but head coach Mike Budenholzer wasn't ready to say whether or not Scott would play in Sunday's game at Philips Arena.
"He is progressing," Budenholzer said. "We'll know more between now and (Game 1) Sunday. I don't think we can say either way that he is definitely in or definitely out. He went through a lot of practice today. We'll see how he feels today and Sunday. We are hopeful he'll be ready to go."
Scott was injured during a hard fall while battling for a rebound in Monday's loss to the New York Knicks. He sat out Wednesday's regular season finale in Chicago.
The Hawks are dealing with some bumps and bruises for several players. Paul Millsap returned from a five game absence due to a shoulder injury against the Bulls. Dennis Schröder has also been bothered by a sprained toe of late.
One player who has already been declared out for the remainder of the playoffs is wing Thabo Sefolosha. The team announced on Friday that Sefolosha had surgery to repair a fractured fibula on Thursday.
