The Indiana Pacers pulled even with the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference standings thanks to a 116-104 win over Oklahoma City combined with a 96-73 loss by the Nets in Milwaukee. If the season ended today, Brooklyn would get the final playoff spot by virtue of winning the season series with Indiana. However, things couldn't be any tighter heading into the two final regular season games for both teams.
Here is a current look at the race for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference:
Team | W/L | GB | Remaining Schedule |
7. Boston Celtics | 38-42 | 22.0 | vs Raptors, @ Bucks |
8. Brooklyn Nets | 37-43 | 23.0 | vs Bulls, vs Magic |
Indiana Pacers | 37-43 | 23.0 | vs Wizards, @ Grizzlies |
Miami Heat | 35-45 | 25.0 | vs Magic, @ 76ers |
The Pacers have won five straight games to climb back into the race but must finish a game better in the standings to claim the final playoff spot. The Nets end their regular season at home with games against Chicago and Orlando. Indiana will host Washington before wrapping up the regular season in Memphis against the Grizzlies.
