The Hawks rolled out all the starters to take on the visiting Milwaukee Bucks Monday night and handled their business, taking down their guests, 101-88, and despite a terrific effort from Peachtree Hoops favorite Zaza Pachulia.
DeMarre Carroll continued his one man onslaught, knocking down 9-13 shots, grabbing eight boards and scoring 23 points to lead all scorers. The Hawks took down every quarter from the Bucks and led by as many as 16, thanks to a Korver-run of four buckets in about a minute, to get their 56th win of the season
All the Hawks starters were back and played between 29 minutes (Jeff Teague) and 34:40 minutes (Paul Millsap) and seemed prepared to do better than the last time the Bucks were in town and embarrassed the Hawks.
The bad news was that Dennis Schröder injured his toe in the first half and did not return to the game. We'll know more tomorrow about his status so be sure to check out the Peachtree Hoops feed on Twitter for the latest there.Shelvin Mack did the backup point guard duties and considering the Hawks intend to give their starters the day off Tuesday, you may be seeing some John Jenkins, Point Guard or some Point Bazemore.
Thabo Sefolosha showed well as he continues to ease his way back into the Hawks rotation. Thabo went 4-6, making his only three pointer and both free throws to end with 11 points in 13 minutes, also securing four rebounds and snaring a steal as well.
Pachulia, who is still loved by many Hawks fans, returned to Atlanta and went 8-10 with 17 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't near enough to keep the Hawks from continuing their 2014-15 excellence.
