With Tuesday's practice going on without him, Jeff Teague was considered a serious question mark for Wednesday's contest against the Dallas Mavericks. However, head coach Mike Budenholzer indicated pregame that the team expects Teague to play and start despite concerns over lingering illness.
The Mavericks will be without starting point guard Rajon Rondo (suspension) and forwards A'mare Stoudemire (rest) and Chandler Parsons (injury), and that should lessen the blow should Teague be limited at all by his illness. However, Teague's contributions cannot be overlooked, as he has made a tremendous leap this season, including career-bests in scoring (16.8 points per game), assists (7.3 per game) and PER (21.72), and it is undoubtedly a positive that he is able to suit up.
Budenholzer indicated that all 14 members of the Atlanta Hawks roster were accounted for, despite weather concerns, in advance of the game. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm ET in front of what is likely to be a lessened crowd. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: The Mavericks will also be without Tyson Chandler, as a result of a hip contusion.
