Tim Hardaway Jr will be making a return trip to the NBA D-League according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.

Since Atlanta does not have a D-League affiliate of its own, Hardaway will be assigned via the league's flexible assignment rule. Hardaway made a two-game appearance in the D-League earlier this season with the Canton Charge where he averaged 17 points per game but struggled with his shot going 8-for-29 from the field and 1-for-14 from three-point range.
Hardaway has appeared in just four games for the Hawks so far this season and has been inactive in 12 of the last 13 games. The Hawks have used the D-League extensively over the last couple of seasons as a venue to get bench players some much-needed court time. Walter Tavares and Lamar Patterson have already seen multiple assignments so far this season.
The Hawks have announced Hardaway's assignment and he is headed to the Austin Spurs.
