The Atlanta Hawks go on their second game of a three game road trip as they head into Memphis Friday night to take on the Grizzlies. Atlanta is coming off of a four point loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night, and hope to keep pace in what is appearing to be a competitive Eastern Conference.
Kent Bazemore is questionable for the game, and Tiago Splitter will be out. The Hawks faced the Grizzlies in the preseason, but this year hasn't gone quite as well as the Grizz would have hoped. They struggled early to find their identity, and suffered a horrible 50-point loss at the hands of the Warriors earlier this season. But they have come on strong, winning six of their last seven, and will make for quite the opponent Friday night.
The Hawks, on the other hand, have lost five of their past seven. They have struggled with injuries, but appear that they may be headed in the right direction in terms of getting healthy. Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague, and Al Horford have played well for the Hawks, but those extra pieces make a big difference.
If the Hawks are able to limit the turnovers they commit and hit the glass hard, they can compete with Memphis, if not, it might be difficult. We will have another great guard matchup to watch in Mike Conley and Jeff Teague, two of the quicker guards in the league.
