Even if Kent Bazemore is able to return for the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, the team will not be at full strength according to a report. Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution brings word that big man Tiago Splitter will miss the game against the Boston Celtics as a result of a hip injury.
The injury is one that cost Splitter the second half of Saturday's loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he reportedly missed practice on Monday. This is a blow for Atlanta's depth up front, with only Mike Muscala and Mike Scott serving as "regular" backups to Al Horford and Paul Millsap, but against the Celtics, there is no dominant big man to account for, and that is a fortunate development.
In the case of the aforementioned Bazemore, Vivlamore indicates that the injured swingman was, again, absent from practice on Monday, leaving his status very much in doubt for Tuesday's game. Stay tuned for updates as they arrive.
