For the second consecutive night, the Atlanta Hawks will take the floor without one of their best wing players. The team announced on Friday afternoon that Kyle Korver will miss Friday night's game as a result of "ankle rehabilitation", signaling an interesting trend for the team.
Thursday night's win over New York took place without the services of Thabo Sefolosha, who sat under similar pretenses, and it appears that Mike Budenholzer may elect to stagger Sefolosha and Korver in back-to-back situations early in the year. Sefolosha is listed as probable to return to action on Friday and he is expected to play in Korver's stead, with minutes available to Kent Bazemore, Lamar Patterson, Justin Holiday and (maybe) Tim Hardaway Jr. on the wing.
In addition, Mike Muscala is listed as out for the game against Charlotte on Friday, as he continues his recovery from a right ankle sprain suffered in the season opener. Stay tuned throughout the day.
