Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed issued a statement on Wednesday on the Atlanta Hawks and their potential sale. Mayor Reed previously met with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about the Hawks situation and came away reassured that the team would remain in Atlanta for the long haul.

The comments were likely spurred in regards to a report from Tuesday that Seattle business men Chris Hansen and Thomas Tull were preparing to make separate bids for the Atlanta Hawks with the intentions of moving the team to Seattle.
In addition an NBA Spokesman reiterated to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the Hawks would NOT be relocating to another market.
