Adidas recently teamed up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to release four limited edition Black History Month (BHM) sneakers. Included were the Crazy 8, J Wall 1, D Rose 5 Boost, and the D Lillard 1. Each of the four shoes pay tribute to Kareem's career, representing a different time period. A portion of the sales will go to Abdul-Jabbar's Skyhook Foundation; 'giving kids a shot that cannot be blocked'.
On Martin Luther King Day, John Wall got to debut his BHM sneakers. These shoes are representative of Kareem's college career at UCLA, when dunking was banned from the college game. On the J Wall 1 upper and sockliner it says "Rules are what make the game challenging".
If I had a couple hundred bucks lying around I would definitely purchase the 'BHM' J Wall 1's. Adidas was spot on with the design, and consistent throughout the set of sneakers. Not to mention, Wall debuted these kicks on Martin Luther King Day, and they are his first limited edition sneaker. These shoes pay respect to a large piece of basketball history, and the money goes to a great cause. With cash to spare, who wouldn't buy these sneakers?
