Shelvin Mack injury: Hawks guard leaves game with strained calf

The Atlanta Hawks could be down a couple of point guards on Saturday after Shelvin Mack left the game with a strained calf.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Shelvin Mack left Saturday's game in Chicago with a strained calf. Mack suffered the injury after he scored on a drive and planted to run back down the court. He limped to the sidelines and was later ushered to the locker room area. Mack was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after.

Mack hasn't saw first half minutes in sometime so it was a bit surprising to see him in the game ahead of Dennis Schröder. There was no report of an injury to Schröder but the AJC's Chris Vivlamore reported that he saw Dennis receiving treatment on his ankle prior to the game.

If the Hawks are without both Mack and Schröder, then they may be forced to give some point guard minutes to Kent Bazemore in the second half.

Update

Per the broadcast, Schröder not playing was a coach's decision. No word of an injury so we will see if he plays in the second half.
