Adreian Payne, Spurs hold on for 149-146 win over Reno

Adreian Payne continued his D-League assignment on Sunday and helped the Austin Spurs to a 149-146 win over the Reno Bighorns.

Adreian Payne's D-League assignment continued on Sunday as the Austin Spurs held on late for a 149-146 win over the Reno Bighorns.

Payne finished the game with eight points and 10 rebounds on 4-7 shooting in 23 minutes off of the bench. He added three assists and a blocked shot but was also credited with four turnovers. JaMychal Green led the Spurs with 31 points while Bryce Cotton finished with 30.

Austin led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter before Reno outscored them 44-28 in the fourth. Former Nuggets draft pick Quincy Miller led the Bighorns with 37 points while David Stockton finished with 28.

Austin won't play again until Thursday when they open up their D-League showcase schedule against Grand Rapids.

John Jenkins sat out his second straight game on Sunday for the Idaho Stampede due to a hamstring injury. He was to be reevaluated on Monday.
