WAIT WHAT??? IS THIS REAL???.....A-A-A-Are those..........POWER RANKINGS!?!?
Yes Hawks fans we are getting that much closer to the start of the NBA season now that Marc Stein of ESPN.com has released the initial training camp set of power rankings. This has been a long and interesting summer and now we as the fans can finally look at something Atlanta Hawks basketball related.
It's almost like tradition for the Hawks to get a low number when it comes to predictions before the season starts, but hey take it as it is and at least we are actually predicted to make the playoffs this year. Right now the Hawks are at #16 and right in the middle of the pack.
It would be so much better to be focused here on Al Horford's comeback. Or the fact that the Southeast Division is suddenly so wide open. Unfortunately, that's not going to be possible with the Danny Ferry cloud and sale-related uncertainty hovering over the franchise. Not for a while.
At first I wanted to say that this ranking was too low for Atlanta but after thinking about it it's not necessarily the Hawks ranking that I am upset with, it is all the other rankings. The Hawks seem to be right in the middle so it's not like any respect has been lost. Hopefully through the course of the year this team can move up in the rankings but for now I am not too upset with where this team is placed.
Anyway below let me know what you think of the rankings? Are you upset, happy, or just confused? As always let me know what you guys think in the comments.
