Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed meeting with Adam Silver on Friday, per report

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will meet with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver in New York on Friday to discuss the Atlanta Hawks ownership situation.

Reed previously told the media that the city would be closely involved with the sale process and were focused on finding a buyer that would keep the Hawks franchise in Atlanta for the long term. Reed also said that he had spoken with six potential unidentified buyers.

Entertainment and sports attorney Doug Davis and Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins are two names that have surfaced as interested buyers. Its not known if either were among the six that Mayor Reed talked about in his press conference.

The team will begin training camp next week in preparation for the 2014-15 season.
