The Atlanta Dream look to shake off their recent struggles when they continue their road trip Thursday night in Seattle in a matchup with the last place Storm. The Dream still sit atop the Eastern Conference standings with a 17-11 record but they have lost six of eight and saw their lead dwindle to just 3.5 games with six games remaining in the regular season.
Atlanta opened the road trip on Tuesday with a 75-67 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. The Dream outscored the Mercury 22-6 in the third quarter to take the lead heading to the fourth quarter but were unable to sustain it as Diana Taurasi led Phoenix all the way back for the win. Atlanta played without center Erika de Souza on Tuesday due to an illness and her status for Tuesday night's game is unknown. Aneika Henry started at center in place of De Souza and finished with nine points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes.
Its been a tough year for Seattle who enter play Thursday with a 10-20 record and 3.5 games out of the last playoff spot. The Storm have battled injuries for much of the year but snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 71-65 win over San Antonio on Sunday.
Thursday's game is the first of a back-to-back for the Dream as they will play again in Los Angeles on Friday. They will wrap up their four-game trip on Sunday in Chicago.
