2014 WNBA: Dream look to bounce back against Mystics

The Atlanta Dream look to get back on track Saturday evening when they host the Washington Mystics at Philips Arena.

The Atlanta Dream look to avoid a second straight loss at home Saturday night when they host the Washington Mystics. Atlanta is looking to recover from Tuesday's 77-70 loss to the Indiana Fever. It was just the Dream's second loss at home this season with both coming at the hands of the Fever.

The Dream swept a home-and-home series against the Mystics earlier this season winning 75-67 in Washington and 83-73 in Atlanta. Angel McCoughtry scored 27 points in the game at Philips Arena to lead Atlanta's attack.

The Dream's offense will be looking to get back on track after a tough performance against the Fever. Erika de Souza led the way with 23 points but Atlanta shot just 37 percent as a team and turned the ball over 15 times. That might not be an easy task as the Mystics have the league's top scoring defense surrendering just 74.3 points per game. Washington is currently third in defensive rating at 99.8 points per 100 possessions.

Pace and defensive intensity has become an important factor for the Dream as they have gotten accustomed to what head coach Michael Cooper is looking for. Atlanta looks for every opportunity to push the ball in transition whether its off of a missed shot or a turnover. They are at their best when they are flying all over the court.

They have won their fair share of grind it out affairs as well but their lack of consistent three-point shooting hurts them when opponents are able to pack the paint. Atlanta went 0-13 from three-point range in Tuesday's loss and are only shooting 29 percent on the season.
