Dennis Schröder finished with seven points off the bench in his debut for the German National Team as they defeated Finland 74-67 in a warm up. Germany is preparing for the Eurobasket qualifying rounds that will take place later this summer.
Schröder said after the game that his only goal was helping Germany qualify for the 2016 Olympics:
"In the second half, it went well. I moved and was looking for the open positions and found. My goal is very clear Olympia 2016. Till then it goes day by day and step by step. I'll be the Natioalmannschaft always available and I am pleased that the debut has ended with a win,
Germany will be in Group C of the second round of Eurobasket qualifying. They will begin pool play on August 10 against Poland and will take on Austria three days later on the 13th.
Schröder is coming off of a somewhat disappointing rookie season with the Hawks but had a strong summer league showing in Las Vegas and is expected to compete for minutes behind starter Jeff Teague.
