Atlanta Hawks announce signing of 1st-round pick Adreian Payne

The Atlanta Hawks have made official the signing of first-round pick Adreian Payne.

The Atlanta Hawks continued their busy afternoon by officially announcing the signing of first round pick Adreian PayneThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this morning that the Hawks and Payne were hammering out the details of an agreement. The announcement came just moments after news broke that the team had also agreed to a 3-year, $7.3 million deal with restricted free agent Shelvin Mack.

The Hawks selected Payne with the 15th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Details of the signing were not disclosed per team policy. Payne participated in the Vegas Summer League with the Hawks and averaged 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over the six games.

On the roster front, Atlanta has reached agreements with free agents Thabo Sefolosha and Kent Bazemore but has not formally announced the signings. Also forward Mike Scott continues to wait out restricted free agency but the Hawks retain the right of first refusal on any offer sheet he signs.
